Joy. This is one of my most favorite words in the Bible. Joy isn’t just being happy or finding delight in something. Joy isn’t elation, jubilation, nor exhilaration. While these emotions are present within joy, and are expressions of joy, these don’t define joy.
Joy from a biblical perspective is a gladness of heart that comes from knowing God, biding in Christ, and being filled with the Holy Spirit.
Joy is an attitude of heart, soul, and mind that comes from a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. With this attitude of joy, you can experience hope, peace, comfort, and blessing even in the most difficult of days.
Joy is born out of our trials and comes through faith in Christ. The hope of the righteous brings joy, and joy is the by-product of salvation through our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Do you know the everlasting joy that can be experienced despite the pains and aches this world has to offer? Have you experienced a fullness of joy?
